Acticare are a leading provider of essential care product supplies to the Care Home Industry.

What was the requirement?

Due to expansion, Acticare were building a brand-new premises, which combined offices and warehouse storage. As part of the requirement for the new premises, they needed a full wired and wireless network across the site for office staff, warehouse staff and warehouse scanning machinery.

Considerations

Taking the above requirements into consideration, Network Data Services designed a network installation based on desk, meeting room, office and warehouse locations identified in the architect drawings. We also had to plan to do install the network in phases due to the way the premises was built.

Solutions

We provided a full Cat6 network and a fibre optic link for a fibre to premises and installed a full Ubiquiti Wi-Fi network across whole site. We also installed a site wide Monacor sound system with audio matrix and commercial displays in a variety of sizes.

Results

The installation of the site wide network ensured that Acticare could communicate stock levels between departments and have this information available to communicate to customers quickly and effectively. The sound system and screens allow for order monitoring across the site for further effective communication between departments. The sound system allowed for sound to be both communicated site wide or segregated per meeting room, as each meeting room contained its own secondary amplifier.
